“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed.”

Energy Education began working in the church market in 2006. Our first church client, Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX, achieved a remarkable 34% savings in utility costs in the very first year of its program. Prestonwood was projected to save $568,000 during the first year of its program with Energy Education, but finished the year with $914,295 in total savings — a significant achievement.
Prestonwood achieved a 34% cost savings surpassing $1.6 million in 21 months by implementing Energy Education's Transformational Energy Management ProcessTM. In addition to savings, Prestonwood has enjoyed significant publicity by being a leader in stewardship and energy conservation:
- House of Worship (HOW) Award — Best Green
Church and Best Operations and Maintenance
(November 2006)
- Newsweek magazine (April 2007)
- Dallas Morning News (June 2007)
- Austin American-Statesman (July 2007)
- 2007 ENERGY STAR Award Winner for Small Businesses and Congregations, United States Government (September 2007) — one of eight small businesses and three congregations. Together, the winners saved more than $1.2 million in annual energy costs; however, Prestonwood's contribution was almost $900,000 of this total. See more here.
- Wall Street Journal (September 2007)
- Church Executive Magazine (October 2007)
- BreakPoint Commentary (November 2007) See it here.

Leveraging the success of our work with Prestonwood, Energy Education is now partnering with some of the largest churches in the United States, talking with others, and is excited about serving these important organizations. (To be eligible for our services, churches must have annual utility costs of at least $750,000.)
